New One Trip shipping containers have typically been manufactured overseas and used for a single cargo trip before being sold, so they generally offer the best cosmetic condition with minimal wear. Used containers have spent longer in cargo service and may show dents, scratches and surface rust, but they can provide a more cost-effective option for storage and other practical uses. The best choice depends on your budget, intended use and how important appearance is to you.
Wind & Water Tight (WWT) shipping containers are used containers that have been inspected to ensure they remain sealed against wind and rain for normal storage use. Because they have spent years in cargo service, cosmetic wear such as dents, scratches and surface rust is normal. WWT containers are a popular lower-cost option when appearance is less important than practical, secure storage.
Delivery space depends on the container size and delivery equipment. As a general guide, a 40ft container may require around 100 feet of straight-line clearance for unloading, while a 20ft container may require around 60 feet. You should also allow adequate truck access, turning room and up to approximately 20 feet of overhead clearance while the tilt-bed trailer is raised.
